Hubby's birthday staycation

25/1/2017

Another Best Rate Guarantee (BRG) for hotel lately for my hubby's birthday staycation with the trick matching the lower rate I found on Orbitz own website plus a compensation of USD50/ claim, we got a stay at Wynn Palace at USD101.2 only! (around HKD810) (in which the rate is over HKD1800 all the time even on weekdays!)

Orbitz's offer: USD191.46

I was very lucky seeing Wynn Palace offering special rate for grand opening promotion. Of course Orbitz followed the same rate the it became a perfect opportunity for me to apply for BRG!

Wynn Palace's special offer on Orbitz: USD151.2- USD50 compensation= USD101.2

Celebrating his birthday with a lower cost certainly was not that simply. Trying to find cheap ferry tickets, we initially wanna make use of the Cotaijet Birthday Celebration Promotion, but seeing the Trial Eticket Promotion of Turbojet at the same price (HKD248), we gave a try on that instead.

After an hour of comfy ride, we finally arrived at Macau. There were plenty of free shuttle transferring tourists to different hotels. We found ours and hopped on it very quickly. Worth to mention, there is free Wifi available everywhere in Macau, including shuttle on board! How convenient it is!

Everything in Wynn Palace was eye catching. We really felt like King and Queen once we stepped in the hotel. Check in was quick. Staff were polite. And the most important thing was that we got early check in at 11am! We could be able to drop the thing in our room and relaxed a bit before we headed to Taipa City for lunch!

Couldn't wait to see our room! It was really huge and everything was exactly the same as the pictures on the official website. What a resplendent and stately room we had with amenities in gold and high tech tools to control all electrical goods in room. The 63-inches TV was magnificent. The fluffy slippers were my favourite! I even took them home as they were really soft and warm!

We spent some time exploring the hotel first. See how excited it was welcoming the year of rooster!

Even Starbucks looked dreamy!

Then we headed to Taipa City for lunch by free shuttle. We went to A Petisqueira to make reservation for dinner tonight.

Then, we just dropped by 亞蘇廚房 for lunch. (HKD84) The preserved eggs were really delicious even I couldn't stand the spicy taste of them.

Having a nice coffee at Fong Da Coffee is a must after lunch. (HKD22)

Wandered around for a while and made our way to Galaxy Hotel.

Actually there were not much to see but still we could find somewhere nice taking photos around the shopping mall. Wanna try the newly opened fansy coffee shop Cha Bei but was too full for that. What a shame.

Almost time for dinner and we walked back to A Petisqueira. The staff were still doing preparation but crowds of people were already out there. The restaurant was full in 5 minutes after it opened and we felt exceptionally lucky to make a right decision making a reservation in advance. The food and wine were great. (Opps! Forgot to take photo of the steak!) (HKD716) The only downside was that the restaurant was poorly ventilated and we finally grabbed the seats just right at the entrance.

Eventually could make it back to the hotel and enjoy our time there!

Since it was my hubby's birthday, I tried to send an email directly to the hotel and checked if they can offer anything special. For a 5-star hotel, it really didn't disappointed us! We got a chocolate ice cream cake as well as a box of nice chocolate! What amazing surprise we got!

It was such a snug room and we both slept in until 10am. Managed to request for late check out and we quickly did out wash up and went down for lunch. Hanami was famous for its Michelin 1-star Ramen. Arriving there 10 minutes before it opened at 11am, we were able to grab 2 seats right away. There were only 16 seats and it was full immediately. Those queued outside needed to wait for the next round. We downloaded the free upgrade voucher on Wechat and could pay less for more expensive Ramen. We ordered a Shoyu ramen with roasted pork and a Hanami signature. (HKD293) They were both great and we even finished drinking the whole bowl of soup.

Checked out and kept our belongings at the concierge, then it was time for the free cable car ride. Unfortunately, it was too windy and the water show was cancelled. Otherwise, it must be great viewing it from top.

P.S. Ride is free at another station sending tourists to Wynn Palace, no need to spend a hundred dollar for that! It doesn't worth!

Swimming pool was nice but it surely was too cold to swim.

Headed to the Main Island for Isaac Toast. (HKD76) I wish my stomach could have more space for one more toast.

How could we miss the most touristy spot in Macau! But it was way to crowded with people crazily shopping for souvenirs.

A glance at Studio City Macau.

Then Parisian Macao. The Eiffel Tower looked absolutely beautiful. We actually would like to have dinner in La Chine which is on the 6th floor of the Tower, but we were told that it was impossible to dine in without a booking!

Therefore, we decided to have dinner at The Venetian Macao with more varieties of food. (HKD180)

Time to go back to Wynn Palace to pick our belongings. Glad that we were just in time to catch the water show before we left. What a nice one to end our staycation!
